What to do When NOC Get Expired
When a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for a vehicle expires, it's important to take prompt action to address the situation. First, determine the reason for the NOC and its expiry, such as whether it was for vehicle transfer or interstate movement. To obtain a new NOC, visit the Regional Transport Office (RTO) where the original NOC was issued, and submit a fresh application along with required documents, including the vehicle's registration details, identity proof, and address proof. You may need to provide the expired NOC and follow the RTO’s instructions. Be aware of any associated fees and ensure you comply with any legal requirements related to the expired NOC. Following up with the RTO and keeping track of your application will help you obtain a new NOC and maintain your vehicle’s documentation in good order.
Validity of an NOC Certificate
• An NOC is valid for a period of three months. Once the NOC has expired, you cannot produce the same for re-registering. You are expected to submit the NOC and the required documents to the local RTO of the state you are shifting to within three months.
• The NOC is required for moving a vehicle from one state to another and when a vehicle is being sold to someone who intends to take it to another state or union territory.
